Ritter Construction began with a simple idea and a lot of hard work. In 2000, Dan Ritter and his father Steve started dredging residential ponds in their spare time while also working their regular jobs. Dan ran the operations while Steve kept everything running behind the scenes and before long, what began as a side business quickly grew into something more.
In just a year, Dan took a leap of faith and left his full-time position to devote his time and talents to serving customers throughout Southern Iowa. With that move and the addition of a D-4 Dozer, dump truck, and skid steer with a tree shear and grapple to the company’s growing fleet, Ritter Construction officially came to life.
As demand for Ritter Construction’s dirt work services such as land clearing, ag lime application, pond building, and sand and gravel delivery continued to grow, so did the company. In 2008, Dan added a D-6H to the fleet, expanding the company’s capabilities and allowing Ritter Construction to take on larger and more challenging projects.
Ritter Construction has continued to thrive, building a strong and experienced team to support its continued growth. One project at a time, Dan and his wife, Kelli, have built Ritter Construction into a trusted family-operated business focused on quality service and a commitment to the customers and communities they serve.
